Mindfulness and The Art of Forgetting: The #1 Way To Heal Your Heart and Dance With Love Again
What mindfulness is, its various benefits and how you can practice it to heal your heart.
Mindfulness has been an increasingly popular trend in the last few years. It’s no wonder! The benefits of mindfulness are well-documented, but what is mindfulness really? The word derives from the Pali word sati which means “memory”. It’s a method of being present in any given moment and can be practiced with breathing techniques, meditation and exercises to promote awareness. Here are some ways you can try it out for yourself.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. It can be thought of as “being awake and alive in your life.”
It’s a mental state where one is not scattered or dispersed, but fully present.
We all have the capacity for this level of awareness. You just need to learn how to tap into it, it’s a habit.
When people are mindful, they are more aware of themselves and their environment; they’re better able to pay attention to what’s happening in the moment instead of being on autopilot; and they’re less likely to act impulsively or do things that may cause regret later on.
Mindfulness Benefits And the Meraki Way process
In today’s world, it can be difficult to focus on anything other than work or other obligations. Mindfulness is a way to help you remember and appreciate the present moment. It helps you become more aware of your surroundings and enables you to engage in your life fully.
Mindfulness has many benefits, including:
– Improved memory
– Increased creativity
– Reduced stress
– Heal Your heart from trauma and phobias
– Better ability to cope with negative emotions
– Higher self-confidence and an optimistic outlook on life ( Living the Meraki way).
– Greater empathy for others and improved intimate relationships
Mindfulness to heal your fears and anxiety
Chronic fears and anxiety are debilitating.
They can cause severe stress, decreased quality of life and even lead to physical ailments like illness, insomnia or heart disease.
But mindfulness is a way to heal these fears and anxiety.
By connecting with your thoughts and feelings without judgement, you give yourself the opportunity to calm your mind.
It’s not always easy to stay present in your thoughts and feel good- it takes practice! But once you get there, you’ll find that it’s an incredible feeling. We all experience fear at some point but when we take the time to be mindful of our thoughts and let go of judgement, our fear transforms into confidence– one of many benefits of mindfulness!
Conclusion
With mindfulness, there is no need to be worried about the past or fretful about the future. You can get to a place of peace, calmness and contentment right now. There’s nothing to do but be mindful.
To be mindful means to observe things as they are without passing judgment on them. Sounds easy? It’s actually quite difficult to do because our minds have developed a habit over time of labelling everything we experience as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, ‘right’ or “wrong”.
